Robert Harris is a Consultant with DTM Legal; Robert is in the Firm’s Property Team. He brings over 45 years of experience to the firm. He advises clients on complex and large scale property acquisitions, sales, developments and leases acting for businesses and individuals.
Robert graduated with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University and completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law. He started his legal career in 1976 with a small solicitor’s practice in the West End of London but then moved onto much larger firms in the City of London including Clifford Chance.
As a Consultant in the Firm’s Property Department , Robert Harris has his own set of clients many of whom he has acted for in excess of 25 years. Many of his clients have followed him over the years and , indeed , followed him to DTM Legal in 2015. Most of his clients have become personal friends over the years.
Robert provides expert and commercial advice on sales and acquisitions of properties plus property developments in general; he deals with leases and property management generally.

Robert has advised on many developments over the last 45 years including the construction of a number of large shopping centres from the initial acquisition of the land through to the construction of the buildings and finally the negotiation and completion of the occupational leases.
Robert also dealt with the property aspects of the sale of British Sugar, the sale of ICL into Fujitsu, and dealt with all property aspects relating to all of the Nuclear Power Stations in England and Wales during the Privatisation of the Electricity Industry in the early 1990s.
In March 2025, Robert will have been married for 25 years. He and his wife have three sons and five grandchildren plus one dog. Robert is a cricket fanatic plus he has supported Tottenham Hotspur for about 60 years.
