James Timmins is a Trainee Solicitor in our Commercial Property department. Prior to beginning his training contract, James began his legal career at DTM Legal in September 2022 as a paralegal in our Property Litigation department.
James completed his law degree at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating with first-class honours. James subsequently obtained a Legal Practice Course LLM achieving a Distinction.
Whilst working in Commercial Property, James has obtained a broad experience of retail, industrial commercial, and agricultural transactions.
James also worked on many high value and complex disputes during his time in Property Litigation, with a particular focus on landlord and tenant matters. James has particular expertise in residential landlord and tenant matters with a large practice relating to Section 21 and Section 8 Notices. James also has experience with:
- Debt recovery
- Forfeiture
- Rights of way
- Easements
- Boundary disputes
James also has experience in sport law, having researched a dissertation analysing the regulation of football both domestically and at the European level following the European Super League proposals. At master’s level, James researched a dissertation analysing the compatibility of the European Model of Sport with EU Competion Law. James also gained practical sports law experience when he completed a legal internship at Liverpool Football Club where he worked on a variety of commercial and intellectual property issues.
In his spare time James enjoys watching football and has the misfortune of being a Manchester United supporter living and working in Liverpool.
