James is a Senior Associate who specialises in property dispute resolution. He has a wealth of expertise in all types of property litigation including lease renewals and terminations, forfeiture, dilapidations, rent arrears, residential leasehold including service charges, easements, restrictive covenants, agriculture and rural disputes, possession claims and party wall disputes.
Named in The Legal 500 as a ‘Rising Star’ in the field of property litigation, James has been recognised as having “substantial experience, beyond his years” and being “… a commercially minded specialist property litigator”. James is also a member of the Property Litigation Association and the Agricultural Law Association as well as an affiliate member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors.
James’s clients include investors with large portfolios, developers, commercial landlords and tenants, landowners, agricultural landlord and tenants, management companies and individuals. His recent case highlights include securing substantial service charge arrears for a residents management company, winning a commercial trusts of land trial in Manchester County Court and successful resolution of a contested lease renewal and dilapidations claim of premises in London
