DTM Legal is proud to join leading law firms from across the Liverpool City Region to help local students Step into Law. A two-day initiative organised by the Liverpool City Council and supported by the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce looks to provide students from several schools with insight into the legal profession and guidance in launching a successful legal career.
What is Step into Law
Organised by the Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, Step into Law is an initiative that aims to provide schools with an opportunity to engage their pupils with the legal profession. Hosted over two days, pupils get the opportunity to hear speeches from leading law firms, enjoy networking over lunch and discuss the legal profession with staff at various stages of the career path. At the end of the two days, pupils will leave with an understanding of the roles available, possible career paths, insight into practising law and a goody bag to take home!
Vitally the event hopes to leave pupils enthused with the possibility of a legal career and empowered by an understanding of the opportunities available. Kate Roberts, Richard Harris, and Leanna Guy from DTM Legal will be participating in the event, bringing with them a case study on some of the high profile litigation the team is currently involved in. The DTM Legal team will engage students with the real work impact a career in law can have whilst explaining the role of courts in the legal system.
DTM Legal and Community Engagement
DTM Legal is committed to furthering several ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives, with a particular interest in promoting social mobility within the Liverpool City Region (LCR). Fostering a diverse and inclusive legal profession extends to participating in events like Step into Law. Recognising the importance of providing equal opportunities for all, DTM Legal is keen to participate in programs and partnerships aimed at supporting talented individuals from the local community in pursuing careers in law.
Kate Roberts, Head of Liverpool at DTM Legal, shared her perspective on the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Engaging with students at an early stage and providing them with insights into the legal profession is crucial. It not only demystifies the legal world but also inspires the next generation of lawyers.”
