Chester law firm DTM Legal has joined a delegation of local businesses heading to the world’s largest property convention to promote the city to investors.
After making its debut at the event in 2016, Chester is returning to MIPIM, which will see over 25,000 property heavy weights from all over the world head out in force.
DTM Legal is also hosting a pre-MIPIM 2017 networking event in Chester to create an opportunity for the partners and friends of MIPIM to meet one another before this year’s MIPIM 2017 Cheshire Lunch.

Partner at DTM Legal, Sally Pilott, said: “We are supporting the delegation and will showcase Chester on a global stage to institutional investors, funders and potential occupiers across a number of events and presentations. Chester is making big strides forward and has a lot to shout about. It’s important we all focus on bringing new 
investment, opportunity and ultimately jobs to the city.”
For the first time, Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) will have a showcase presence at MIPIM. The stand will focus on the Northern Gateway Development Zone, a strategy to deliver more than 100,000 new homes and 120,000 new jobs. The NGDZ will capitalise on the UK Government’s investment in High Speed 2 (HS2), the new high speed rail link connecting the cities of London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds. A new brand for NGDZ will be unveiled in Cannes.
“There will be a lot of focus on the Cheshire Northern Gateway Development Zone – and quite rightly so. The economic geography is clever and highlights relatively untapped ground between the Northern Powerhouse and Midlands Engine, spanning Cheshire and the north of Staffordshire, including Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe and the A500 corridor. We, at DTM, are keen to be part of this developing landscape” added Sally.
Cheshire & Warrington will also showcase the capability and attractiveness of Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone, which includes major Cheshire sites such as Thornton Science Park, and Alderley Park. It has the potential to attract around 20,000 new jobs and 500 businesses.
Sally continued: “Chester’s plans to develop its new business quarter, sit alongside major developments in retail, leisure and transport links, such as the Northgate Development, the restaurant quarter and Growth Track 360. More large businesses are relocating to Chester and lots of young talented individuals are now choosing to apply to Chester University and remain in the area.
“There is a lot more to come from Chester as well to ensure it continues its upward progression and MIPIM is the perfect platform to share our story.
“As a heritage city that is steeped in culture and history but also continuously developing as a modern and vibrant city, the world needs to see just how much more Chester has to offer. By working in collaboration, we will be able to ensure we maximise this opportunity and deliver our message to a global audience that Chester is very much open for business.”
The Chester delegation attending MIPIM 2017 includes representatives from Muse Developments, Glenbrook, Graham Construction, Grosvenor Estate, Northgate, Fifield Glyn, Pochins, Pozzoni Architects, TEM Property Group and Vinci Construction UK.
