On December 3rd, FinTech North, in collaboration with DTM Legal and Barclays Eagle Labs, hosted FinTech for Good, an inspiring event at Eagle Labs in Liverpool, focusing on the transformative power of FinTech to create meaningful social impact.
The afternoon brought together thought leaders, innovators, and professionals to explore the intersection of FinTech and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). Attendees were treated to a panel discussion featuring:

- Dr. Alison Lui, Associate Dean Global Engagement, Liverpool John Moores University

The FinTech for Good panel shared fascinating insights into how FinTech companies are already driving positive change through ESG-focused solutions and highlighted opportunities for further innovation within the sector. From practical examples of successful initiatives to actionable advice for businesses looking to enhance their own ESG strategies, the discussion was enlightening. Areas covered and trends included area accessibility, digital poverty, data strategies, financial literacy, AI and the implications of using generative AI, and diversity and inclusion.
DTM Legal’s Role in the FinTech Ecosystem
Kate Roberts and Richard Harris from DTM Legal spoke on behalf of the Liverpool City Region (LCR) FinTech Growth Group, discussing the Group’s history and establishment following the regions FinTech report as well as its role in fostering collaboration across the ecosystem. They also shared exciting news about the upcoming rebrand of the FinTech Growth Group and introduced plans for a dedicated FinTech webpage, a project in partnership with the Growth Platform to better support and showcase FinTech innovation in the region.
