DTM Legal proudly congratulates Melissa Scott and Leanna Guy on successfully completing their trainee solicitor programme and officially graduating as Solicitors. Two years ago, we welcomed them into our team with high hopes and expectations, and today we celebrate their hard work, dedication, and achievements.
Melissa Scott, who joined us after completing her LPC and MSc in Law, Business, and Management, has chosen to specialise in Employment Law. From her initial days as a Commercial Property Paralegal in July 2022 to completing her Training Contract in September 2022, Melissa has consistently showcased her commitment and enthusiasm for the legal profession. Her academic excellence, with a well-deserved 2:1 in Law from Newcastle University and distinctions in both the LPC and MSc, paved the way for her success.
Melissa’s journey at DTM has been marked by her valuable contributions to the team and her ability to draw on her business knowledge. Outside the office, Melissa enjoys capturing moments through photography, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and exploring the picturesque Welsh countryside with her family’s two border collies, Heidi and Amber.
Leanna Guy, a Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution Team, has also completed her trainee solicitor scheme with flying colours. Leanna initially joined DTM Legal in 2020 as a paralegal and continued to specialise in the same department. After studying Law at the University of Bristol and completing her LPC at the University of Law in Liverpool, Leanna has proven herself in various areas, including commercial litigation, construction, debt recovery, and insolvency work.
Beyond Leanna’s dedication to her, outside the office she enjoys dance, international travel, and creating delightful treats in the kitchen. Her involvement in the Pro Bono Advice clinic during her time at the University of Law highlights her commitment to making a positive impact in the legal community.
Jim Morris, Partner at DTM Legal, expressed his delight at the quality of candidates when Melissa and Leanna initially joined the firm. Now that they have qualified, he added ‘It is great to see Mel and Leanna celebrate the successful outcome of their hard work, they are valuable members of the DTM Legal team and we have already benefited a great deal from having them at the firm.’
As Melissa embarks on her journey in the Employment and HR team, and Leanna continues to specialise as a Dispute Resolution Solicitor, we are confident that they will bring their unique skills, passion, and commitment to their respective roles.
