Melissa Scott is a Solicitor at DTM Legal and specialises in Employment Law. She advises both employers and employers on a variety of Employment Law Issues, offering pragmatic and tailored support to meet the unique needs of each client.
Melissa supports clients in all aspects of employment law from the creation of contracts and policies through to employment tribunals. This includes reviewing & drafting contracts, drafting policies and procedures, advising on day-to-day employment law queries, drafting & advising on settlement agreements and advising on bringing or defending employment tribunal claims.
Melissa graduated with a 2:1 degree in Law from Newcastle University. She later achieved a distinction in both her Legal Practice Course and MSc in Law, Business and Management, which she studied at the University of Law. Melissa completed her training contract with DTM Legal, during which she sat in the Employment, Dispute Resolution and Trust & Estates departments.
In addition to her client work, Melissa is a regular contributor to DTM Legal’s Quarterly Employment Law Update, where she provides timely insights and guidance on recent legislative changes and best practices. She has also presented legal insights at several regional events aimed at senior HR professionals, supporting firms with a clear understanding of complex legal issues.
Melissa is a director of Merseyside Young Professionals. She works alongside her fellow directors and committee members to organise events for young professionals in Merseyside to meet, network and build professional connections.
Away from the office, Melissa enjoys spending time with her friends, family and partner Matt. She enjoys travelling, photography, keeping fit and exploring the Welsh countryside with her family’s two border collies, Heidi and Amber.
